Biography

Ronnald E. Piper, Sr., 65, of Warsaw, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel, with Rev. Danny Decker and Rev. Cliff Cato officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born July 26, 1947, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Ernest Allen Piper and Eutoka Perkins Piper who survives of Marshall. He was a 1965 graduate of Marshall High School. On June 1, 1969, he married Cheryl (Sherry) Brown who survives of the home. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant. He also retired from Marshall Habilitation Center. He lived in Warsaw the last six years moving from Marshall and attended First Baptist Church in Warsaw. Family was his first love and music was his second. He performed in various regional country music venues playing the guitar and bass. He was a self-taught musician with his inspiration being Chet Atkins.

In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include two sons, Ronnald E. (Ronnie) Piper, Jr. and wife Nicole of Clever, MO and Robert L. (Robbie) Piper and wife Traci of Blue Springs, MO; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alicen and Kendall Piper; two sisters, Rita Yates and husband Gary and Marilyn Case of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his biological father, J.T. Narron.
