Biography

Jessie Rose Hemme, 76, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, MO, with Pastor Jacob Mueller officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born August 26, 1935, in Preston, MO, she was the daughter of the late John Russell and Cora Erickson Russell. She was a graduate of Blackburn High School. On September 6, 1957, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, she married Herbert Hemme who preceded her in death on December 20, 2001. She had lived in Sweet Springs since 1995, moving from Emma, was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, David Paul Hemme and wife Penny of Emma, MO; two grandsons, Austin Hemme and Caleb Hemme; one sister, Martha Rafferty of Warsaw, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Hemme, two brothers and six sisters.
