Robert Lee (Bob) Shannon, 86, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, August 10, 2012, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Bert Shannon, Trafton Shannon, Aaron Shannon, Butch LaGore, Michael Clouser and Joe Klinge. Memorials may be made to Big Bend Retreat or Bethany Baptist Church. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born January 15, 1926, in Saline County, MO, he was the son of the late William Shannon and Maude Murphy Shannon. On September 6, 1947, he married Dora Lee Marsh who survives of the home. He lived in Saline County his entire life, was a farmer and a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He had served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Wayne Shannon and wife Sherry of rural Napton, MO, Gayle Clouser and husband Mike of Marshall and Steve Shannon and wife Penny of Marshall; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Shannon of rural Napton; one sister, Jean Aldredge of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
