Raymond H. Stoll

November 22, 1919 - June 26, 2012

Raymond H. Stoll, 92, of Blackburn, MO, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Blackburn with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born November 22, 1919 in rural Alma, MO, he was the son of the late Edward Stoll and Meta Holke Stoll. He lived in the Alma and Blackburn areas his entire life and was a 1937 graduate of Alma High School and lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Blackburn. On October 22, 1942 he married Shirley Schuette who survives of the home. On May 20, 1943 he joined the Army Air Corps and served in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged on December 27, 1945. After returning home, he spent the remainder of his life farming in the Blackburn and Alma areas. He was a life member of Blackburn American Legion Post 478, life member of Corder V.F.W. Post 4288, served on the Blackburn Bank Board and Concordia Farmers Mutual Board, as well as numerous agricultural organizations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Ronald Stoll and wife Sharon of Alma, Donald Stoll and wife Jeannie of Alma, Janice Stoll of Blackburn, Terresa Stoll of Blackburn; three grandchildren: Angela Stoll, Kevin Stoll and wife Sheryl, and Kelly Harbert and husband Randall; six great-grandchildren: Jarrod Opfer and wife Amber, Lindsay Taylor, Noah Stoll, Morgan Harbert, Ross Harbert and Scott Harbert; one great-great-granddaughter, Adelyn Taylor; two brothers, Lawrence Stoll of Higginsville and Everett Stoll of Overland Park, KS; many nieces and nephews; as well as special family, Keith and Judy Dunlap and their children, whom he considered grandchildren, Jackie, Stewart and Dwight; and their children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; four sisters; and one grandson, Scott Stoll.
