Harry Fenner, Jr., 88, of rural Malta Bend, MO, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Grand Pass United Methodist Church. Burial with military rites will be in Grand Pass Community Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to Grand Pass United Methodist Church, Grand Pass Community Cemetery, or Maple Hill Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born February 19, 1924 in Grand Pass, he was the son of the late Harry Fenner and Elizabeth Singleton Fenner. On April 24, 1948, in Marshall, he married Helen Closterman who preceded him in death on June 20, 2006. He had lived in the Grand Pass and Malta Bend areas most of his life where he was a farmer. In addition to farming he drove a school bus for the Santa Fe School District for 29 years and had also worked at Lake City Arsenal. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of American Legion Post 580 in Waverly and Carrollton V.F.W. He was a member of Grand Pass Christian Church and attended Grand Pass United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Musick and husband Kenneth of Bogard; one grandson, Matthew Musick of Bogard; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Lawrence, Edward, Price, Charles, Harold, George, and Leslie Fenner; and one sister, Mary Katherine Reynolds.
