Kaye Wright, 71, of rural Marshall, MO, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Kaye was born July 31, 1940 in Marshall, MO, the daughter of the late Charles W. Jones and Kathryn E. Logsdon Jones. She was a lifelong resident of Saline County where she was a graduate of Marshall High School and member of First United Methodist Church. On June 1, 1957 she married Charles H. (Bud) Wright who preceded her in death on October 14, 1986. Kaye was a member of the Missouri Quarter Horse Association, Farm Bureau Board, Saline County Cattlemen’s Association and longtime volunteer for 4-H on local and state levels. She received the Dedicated Service Award from the Missouri Quarter Horse Association in 2006 and 2008, was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame in 2011, received an Honorary State FFA degree and most recently received the Frank Graham 4-H Volunteer Leadership Award earlier this year. With her skill and knowledge of horses, she was called upon by the Missouri State Fair to serve as Equine Superintendent, 4-H and FFA Horse Show Superintendent, as well as Superintendent of the Mule Show. Kaye volunteered for 35 years to the Saline County Fair Association, serving as treasurer for many years, and was a member and secretary of the Industrial Development Authority of Saline County.
Survivors include three daughters, Kristie Price and husband Larry of Marshall, Kathy Tyre and husband Jim of rural Marshall, Paige Erickson and husband Roger of rural Haskell, OK; seven grandchildren: Jason Price and wife Lori, Lorin Fahrmeier and husband Bret, Seth Tyre and wife Lindsey, Katie Tyre, Wade Tyre, Adam Erickson, and Colby Erickson; four great-grandchildren: Carson Price, Keelee Price, Wyatt Tyre and Murphy Fahrmeier; as well as her longtime companion, Stanley Duncan and his family.
