Biography

Edward L. Dysart, 71, of Marshall, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall (this is not a visitation). Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saline County 4-H Shooting Sports in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born May 15, 1941, in Huntsville, MO, he was the son of the late James Ben Dysart and Nella Mae Barron Dysart. He was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School. On August 23, 1986, he married Ina Frances Snoddy who survives of the home. He lived in Saline County most of his life, was owner/operator of Dysart Insurance Agency and actively engaged in farming. He served in the U.S. Army for three years in the 101st Airborne Division. He served on the boards of Concordia Farmers Mutual Insurance and Mid-Mo Energy. He was a supporter of 4-H, young farmers and numerous conservation groups of the area. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marshall, National Rifle Association, Malta Bend American Legion Post 558 and Safari Club International.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kim Vogel and husband Phil of rural Marshall and Megan Dysart of rural Miami and fiancé, Jason Peecher; four grandsons, Brett Vogel and wife Julie, Blake Vogel, Brandon Vogel and Blayne Vogel; two great-grandchildren, Bailee Vogel and Tyler Vogel; one brother, Rob Dysart and wife Vivian of Marshall; one sister, Judy (Gerken) Vest of Pleasant Hill, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
