Life Legacy


Marjorie Shirley, 89, of Marshall, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Marshall, with Dr. Mike Parris and Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born June 26, 1922, in Miami, MO, she was the daughter of the late Roland S. Coleman and Mary Colyer Coleman. On May 7, 1942, she married Tom Shirley who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall most of her life, worked for Marshall Public Schools for 25 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dorcas Sunday school class, WMU and taught Sunday school for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lois Turner of Marshall and Ann Holmes and husband James of Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren, Julie Stockmann and husband Joe, Jennifer Johnson and husband Larry, Jason Holmes and wife Dana and Allison Roderick and husband Will; six great-grandchildren, Andrew and Aaron Stockmann, Hannah and Maggie Johnson, Natalie Holmes and Liam Roderick; one brother, Rev. Lyle Coleman of Linn, MO;
one sister, Mildred Thompson of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Turner; five brothers and three sisters.
