Elizabeth (Betty) Logston, 92, of Marshall, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice. Born August 5, 1919, in Brunswick, MO, she was the daughter of the late William Hamilton Hazlett and Julia Margaret Utterback Hazlett. She was a cook and baker her entire life and owned and operated several restaurants in Missouri and later resorts in Minnesota before retiring to Missouri in 1976. She especially loved decorating wedding cakes. Her last wedding cake was at age 84.
She is survived by six grandchildren including Rayetta Self and husband Linn of Marshall, Beverly Stark of Platte City, MO, Darrell Stark and wife Jean of Fayette, MO and Jimmy Stark and wife Kristi of the state of Texas; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jess Logston in 1988; three daughters, Julia Ruth Turner, Sandra Stark and Bobbie Biswell; one granddaughter, Dawnet McKinney; four sisters; and two brothers.
