Biography

Marla I. Dillon, 65, of Marshall, MO, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Saline Animal League. Born March 14, 1947 in Waukegan, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Eric Paul McNiece and Dorothy Borden McNiece. On July 10, 1971, she married Michael E. Dillon, who preceded her in death on February 7, 2009. Marla had lived in the Marshall area for many years and was a nurse. She had served as director of Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly, and most recently, she retired from The Living Center in Marshall where she was a nurse. She was a long time member of the Saline County Democratic Club where she had previously served as president. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her partner, Sylvia Bales of the home.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in infancy.
