Louis Aversman, Jr., 85, of Waverly, MO, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Life Care Center of Carrollton in Carrollton, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Mark Gooden officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials may be made to Marshall Family Worship Center or Life Care Center of Carrollton. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born September 7, 1926, in Waverly, he was the son of the late Louis Aversman, Sr. and Ida Hillbrenner Aversman. On September 24, 1950, he married Minerva Jane Carroll who preceded him in death on August 24, 2001. He was a long time resident of the Waverly area where he farmed for many years, as well as owning and operating Aversman Fertilizer and Chemical. He was a member of the Marshall Family Worship Center and Waverly Jaycees. He played fast pitch softball for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivor include one son, Terry Aversman of Waverly; one daughter, Brenda Pannell and husband Tim of Marshall; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Leland Aversman of Blackburn, MO; one sister, Lucille Reavis of Kansas City, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Randy Aversman; one brother; and one sister.
