Mary E. Lange, 98, of Concordia, MO, died Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with Rev. Jackson Short officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Knob Noster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Faulconer, Daryl Keller, Tommy Heimsoth, Robert Neal, Shaun Neal and Travis Estes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Faulconer, Nathan Neal, Bobby Wilson, Logan Estes, Jacob Heimsoth, Cass Hemme and Dustin Neal. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born October 6, 1913, in Higginsville, MO, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Kuhlman and Sarah Cunningham Kuhlman. She was a graduate of Training High School in Warrensburg and received a teaching certificate from Central Mo. State University. She taught school from 1931 to 1936 at Woodland and Sunnyside Schools in Knob Noster. On April 6, 1935, she married Archie W. Lange who preceded her in death on November 10, 1985. She was a member of Zion Hill Methodist Church in Concordia where she had been a Sunday school teacher and pianist for a number of years and was also a member of its Women’s Society. She was a member of the Freedom Club and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Beard of Concordia; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Ann Lange; one son, Jimmy Lange; and one grandson, Brian Lange.
