Homer L. Nierman, 76, of Concordia, MO, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia with Rev. R. Lee Hagan officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Born July 29, 1934, in Concordia, he was the son of the late Walter F. Nierman and Alverna Bredehoeft Nierman. On June 14, 1958 he married Donna J. Alexander who preceded him in death on May 8, 2010. Homer lived in Concordia his entire life where he was owner and operator of Nierman Dairy Equipment. He was an active member of the Concordia community and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He served as an alderman for the city of Concordia, was a member of the Lion’s Club and V.F.W. Post in Concordia. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include one son, Todd Nierman of Concordia; one sister, Barbara Hasz of Jackson, TN; along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sons: Marty, Jeff and Scott Nierman.
