Biography

Virgil Leroy Green, 74, of rural Arrow Rock, MO, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Old Lamine Cemetery in Cooper County with military rites. Memorials may be made to Old Lamine Cemetery. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born October 24, 1935, in Lamine, MO, he was the son of the late William Elmer Green and Ella Taylor Green. He had served in the U.S. Army. He had lived in Saline County most of his life and was a member of Olivet Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall.

Survivors include one daughter, Christy Davis of Rocheport, MO; one son, Mike Green; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Lester Green, Robert Green, Calvin Green, Lawrence Green, J.L. (Junior) Green, Freddy Green and Cedric Green and five sisters, Otha Mae Crane, Elsie Hogges, Ella Pace, Helen Twitchell and Susie Smiley.
