Ronald D. Samuels, 69, of Mound City, KS, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Friday, March 5, 2010, in Saline County, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blackburn, MO. Born April 10, 1940, in Sweet Springs, MO, he was the son of the late John Anthony Samuels and Thelma Alberta Burton Samuels. He was a 1958 graduate of Marshall High School. On May 23, 1959, he married Rutheleen Strathman who preceded him in death on May 6, 2003. On March 30, 2005, he married Helen Hildebrand Werneke who survives of the home. He had lived in Mound City the past two years but lived most of his life in Marshall, working at Kraft Foods for many years before retiring. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Paola, KS.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karen Marie Schuler and husband Mark of Mound City; three grandchildren, Matt, Jeremi and Dusty Schuler; three stepchildren, Sheila Debrick, Sarah Graver and Sandra Hamilton; six step-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Samuels of Sibley, MO; one sister, Betty Jackson of rural Sweet Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Sue Samuels, and one brother, Joe Samuels.
