Faye Fain, 92, of Concordia, MO, formerly of Sweet Springs and Emma, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with Rev. Gene Page officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Elmwood Methodist Church or Fairview Cemetery. Born March 27, 1917 in Little River, KS, she was the daughter of the late Grover Griffitt and Katherine Griebel Griffitt. On November 14, 1935, she married Earl Fain, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 22, 2000. Faye had lived in Concordia the last 10 years but spent most of her life in the Sweet Springs and Emma area. She was a cook most of her life, as well as being a homemaker and helping take care of the family farm. She was a long time member of Elmwood Methodist Church and the Scissors And Thimble (S.A.T.) Club.

Survivors include her children: Earl Fain, Jr. and wife Nila of rural Marshall, Ann Anthony of Edwards, Jennie Niederjohn of Concordia, Bill Fain and wife Donna of Sweet Springs and Jane Hall of Pensacola, FL; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Marguerite Driver of Sweet Springs, Anna Edwards of Sedalia, Maxine Crank of Concordia and Betty MacNaney of Warsaw; three brothers: Louis Griffitt of Independence, Grover Allen Griffitt of Rocheport and Paul Griffitt of Warsaw; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Beverly Ruth Fain and John Franklin Fain; one granddaughter, Ginger Reid; sons-in-law, L. Merle Haesemeyer, Gene Niederjohn and Robert Hall; as well as three brothers and one sister.
