Biography

Irene Grimm, 86, of Concordia, MO, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cemetery or School. Born March 5, 1923 in the state of Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Robert LeRoy Wise and Viola Harris, but was raised by Ms. Mertle Cunningham in Marion, Iowa. On January 12, 1940 she married Charles Grimm, Jr., who survives of the home. She lived in Concordia the last 26 years where she was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. June was always active with her husband in business endeavors as well as being a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Judith Kay Smith and Pamela D. Kiernan and husband, Thomas J., all of Independence; one son, Thomas E. Grimm and wife Kathryn A. of Knoxville, MO; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and Ms. Cunningham, she was preceded in death by her siblings.
