Gilbert A. Bergman, 67, of Alma, MO, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, with Rev. Fred Hertwig officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School or Santa Fe Agri-Leaders in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born November 30, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of the late Alvin Bergman and Mildred Pinkepank Bergman. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School and was a 1960 graduate of Concordia High School. On February 15, 1964, he married Mary Jane Wyssman who survives of the home. He lived in Alma most of his life and was a third generation Lafayette County family farmer, actively involved in all aspects of farming. He worked in the Kansas City area for many years before returning to farm in the Alma and Concordia communities. He was a school bus driver for a number of years in the Santa Fe School District. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Santa Fe Agri-Leaders. He was an Alma
4-H tractor maintenance leader for over 10 years and currently serving as commissioner of the Alma Special Road District which he was elected to in February of 1980.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Scott Bergman of Alma, Jody Alan Bergman and wife Tiffany of Alma and Jennifer Leann Bergman of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Caleb Wright Bergman, Connor Wyssman Bergman and Caedon Taylor Bergman; one sister, Arleen Fiene of Concordia, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
