Biography

Alpha Mae Erickson, 86, of rural Malta Bend , MO, died Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. The pallbearers will be Kyle Baker, Jarrod Erickson, Jacob Erickson, Jeremy Behrends, Teddy Erickson and Travis Erickson.

Born August 10, 1923, in Jordon, MO, she was the daughter of the late William Stark and Mary Parks Stark. On December 26, 1941, she married Otto Erickson who survives of the home. She was a homemaker and had worked at Banquet Foods in Marshall. She was a member of Malta Bend Baptist Church. She was known as the “strawberry lady”, loved to garden and was an excellent cook.

Additional survivors include her children, Sharon Kay Henderson of Marshall, William Lee (Bill) Erickson and wife Marlene of Marshall, Brenda Corf and husband Richard of Marshall, Janice Baker and husband Howard (Butch) of Warsaw, MO, Daniel Paul (John) Erickson and wife Anita of Marshall and Melody Long of Pleasant Hill, MO; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.
