Biography

Margaret Alline Moore, 83, of Marshall, MO, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Born April 25, 1926, in Blue Lick, MO, she was the daughter of the late George Wilbur Barton and Margaret Irene Welch Barton. On February 20, 1943, she married Clyde W. Moore who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall for several years as well as living several years in Mesa, AZ. She had worked at MFA Grocery Store in Marshall for several years and was also church secretary for Gill Memorial Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church both in Marshall. She was a league bowler for many years. She was selected for the All-Star Basketball Team in Napton, MO while she was in high school.

Additional survivors include one son, William Moore of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Gertrude Moore of Marshall, Mabel Tennill of Slater, MO, Edelia Cumpton of Marshall and Mary Melies of Liberty, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Lynn Eckler, one sister, Nellie Thornton, and two brothers, Charles and Robert Barton.
