Paul V. Stober, 87, of rural Marshall, MO, died Monday, August 5, 2013, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial with military rites will be in Peninsula Cemetery in Blackwater, MO. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Peninsula Cemetery. Friends may sign the online register book at

Born July 20, 1926, in Saline County, MO, he was the son of the late Ray Stober and Stella Farris Stober. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a paratrooper. On May 15, 1948, he married Sarah Alley who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life, was a farmer and retired from Deems Farm Equipment Company. He was a former member of Sweet Springs First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and was a current member of First Baptist Church in Marshall. He was a school board member in the Green Mound and Sweet Springs School Districts for many years.

In addition to his wife, Sarah, survivors include one daughter, Sherry Arni and husband Don of Glasgow, MO; one son, Coral (Corky) Stober of Long Lane, MO; four grandsons, Dominic Arni and wife Sarah, Patrick Arni, Nathaniel Arni and wife Wendy and Adam Arni; two great-grandchildren, Jack Arni and Elizabeth Coral Arni; three brothers, Morris Stober and wife Helen of Sweet Springs, Donald Stober and wife Jackie of Valley View, TX and Scott Stober and wife Linda of Leeton, MO; one sister, Daphene Lockard of Branson, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Stober and Dwayne Stober; and one sister in infancy.
